Drawing (Week 4-5-6)
In these week's classes we continued to discover shapes and shades of boxes, and depicting them on the drawing sheet. But on each week we added some kind of theme to it. The 4th week Mr. Herman placed a drapery on top of the boxes which made it more difficult to see and draw the boxes. It wasn't easy to figure out where to put darker and lighter shades, at least the darkest places of my drawing was never dark or black enough in my teacher's eyes. On the 5th and 6th week we did almost the same tasks, we had to capture a still life, first in black and white then in color. The 6th week task, the still life in color, seemed much more fun to me since I love to paint, and this was our first opportunity to grab a paintbrush and palette of watercolor. Even though I never paint realistic images it was a great experience to explore realistic representation with paint.
