These weeks' topics were something I have never done before. The first time we met this elder lady was nothing unusual, in contrast with the following weeks when we had to draw this real living -breathing human, in nude. The first experience was shocking. But soon I found myself more relieved since we had the opportunity, not only to paint it in color, but to use our imagination, and do whatever we want to the picture. Well, I thought here is a great chance to let go of my imagination, and let my brush flow upon the paper. The main idea of my painting is that I transformed my impression of the lady into physical objects, and depicted my impressions physically on the lady's body. The rest of the picture to wit the background was influenced by the environment that surrounded me, and the theme of the umbrella. There are lots of hidden parts, which at first you wouldn't realize. To start with the main figure, there is an umbrella which symbolizes the nose and the hair, and a hole in the chest which signifies the emptiness I first thought the model has in her personality. Of course these were just impressions, since I don't know the model personally.
In the background I painted 3 easels and 2 green humanlike figures. Also a cloud with a thunder bolt, and raindrops falling upside down can be seen, which match the umbrella theme. Probably this is my favorite work from this semester, since I had the opportunity to leave the ground of reality.
